Who We Are

Where every student
is known.

Independent Education Network was founded on a simple conviction: students learn best when they are known.

Most online learning environments are built around scale. IEN is built around relationships. Our classes are intentionally small, our teachers are subject specialists with the freedom to teach, and our students are encouraged to think, question, and engage — not simply complete assignments.

Led by certified educators with backgrounds spanning special education, curriculum design, and instructional leadership, IEN brings together the rigor of independent school instruction with the flexibility families need.

This is not passive screen time. This is active, human-centered education.

01

Small, Intentional Groups

Every course is capped at 6–10 students. Teachers know their students' names, strengths, and where they need support — because real learning requires real attention.

02

Teachers With Freedom to Teach

IEN educators are subject specialists who design their own lessons and lead with creativity. No scripts, no standardized pacing. Just great teaching.

03

Flexible Virtual Learning

Classes meet live on Zoom once per week. High-quality enrichment without sacrificing the flexibility that makes homeschooling work.

04

A Small Community by Design

IEN is intentionally growing slowly. Families who join this summer won't get lost in a crowd. That's not a limitation — it's the point.

Curious Minds
"IEN exists because every student deserves a classroom where they're known, challenged, and free to grow. We're building that — one small group, one great teacher, one curious student at a time."

Who This Is For

Learning that meets your
family where you are.

Homeschool Families

Supplement your curriculum with expert-led courses in the subjects where your student needs depth, rigor, or community — without sacrificing homeschooling's flexibility.

Non-Traditional Learners

Whether your student struggles in traditional classrooms, learns differently, or simply thrives in smaller settings, IEN is designed for students who need something different to succeed.

Enrichment Seekers

For families who want more — deeper engagement in a subject your student loves, an intellectual challenge, or an introduction to something entirely new like French or Pattern Making.

A Note From
The Founder
Independent Education Network

IEN was created for students who need more than standardized learning environments can offer.

After years working across education — including special education, instructional support, and community-centered learning — I saw how many students thrived when classes became smaller, more relational, and more intellectually flexible.

IEN was built to create that kind of space: a learning environment where students are known, challenged, supported, and genuinely excited to learn.

We are intentionally growing slowly and thoughtfully so that families never feel like just another enrollment number. The goal is not to build the largest online program. The goal is to build a meaningful one.
